Lil frog game made in 2 days for the GMTK Game Jam 2025.
How to play
Hit all the enemies to win.
- Space or Left Click: Extend tongue, hold to go further
- Hold Shift or Right Click: Boost
- Escape: Quit
Known issues
The web version has some minor issues. First, pressing escape will crash the game and you'll need to refresh the page to play again. Second, it's quite small. Gamemaker seems to make this very complicated to fix, but for now there's always the browser zoom button :)
About the game
This was my first game jam submission! I worked on it solo for maybe 2 days, and although it wasn't much more than a prototype I'm quite pleased with how it came out. The main thing I wanted was to make something that felt more or less 'complete', even if it was tiny or a bit rough around the edges.
I had dreams of capturing bits of Wind Waker (the sailing and that pirate dude who does the cannon game) or Stacking. Like an old school shooting gallery or puppet show. What if the frog was in a little boat, and the wheel had tons of scenery, and it transformed into new areas as you progress, and the frog had a little hat?
Alas, by the time I'd built a prototype I had about 4 hours left and figured I'd better upgrade a few sprites, smash in some menu screens and sound effects, and get it submitted. Job done, see you next year.
PS - I made some minor updates post-jam to fix a bug or two, polish it up, and get the web export working. Enjoy!
